ApMet, LLC is interested in all aspects of ballooning—hot air ballooning and gas (Helium and Hydrogen) ballooning.  Since Albuquerque, New Mexico is one of the most popular hot air ballooning cities in the United States, and since small scale weather (some balloon pilots say "micrometeorology") is critical to hot air balloonists, it is fortuitous for ApMet, LLC to be involved with the ballooning community.  In addition to providing short-term weather analyses and forecasts for hot air balloon activities, we also present weather special interest and safety talks at organizational meetings.

ApMet, LLC understands the importance and details of accurate weather information for gas balloon operations.  For example, we understand the dynamics of balloon performance related to the diurnal (daily) changes in atmospheric pressure, temperature, and density.  Gas balloonists are often involved in long distance races.  ApMet, LLC has experience tailoring the available weather information available (to include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Real-time Environmental Applications and Display sYstem [NOAA READY]) to optimize long distance flight operations.
